RCO SCOTS Local Organ Workshop, Rosewell

Dear SCOTS members and friends

Spaces are still available at our RCO SCOTS Local Organ Workshop at St Matthew’s RC church, Rosewell, Midlothian on Saturday 21 June, featuring its Hamilton/ T. C. Lewis organ.

Our workshop will be led by Simon Leach. The sessions are based on music for the Roman Catholic liturgy, though players from all backgrounds will find something useful!

1030: assemble, tea and coffee

1100: Workshop on chant-based repertoire: bring any piece built on a plainchant melody.

1230: lunch

1330: Hymn and Mass accompaniment

1430: Discussion on choosing music appropriate for Sundays and Feast days

1530: ends

Do come and join us for what promises to be an excellent day. For full details and to book your place, please visit https://www.rco.org.uk/events.php?eventid=808

With thanks and kind regards

About us Founded in 1962 we’ve been serving Lanarkshire’s Church Musicians for almost 50 years. We exist to promote organ and church music – whatever form that may take! Our membership is small with only 20 or so members, but we represent a wide spectrum of ages and interests. Our aim is to encourage those with an interest in Church music and music in general – especially the young, promote music activities in relation to the organ and build a social network of organists in Lanarkshire, to adapt to the changing needs of organists and musicians and church music in general.
