Thank you to Richard McVeigh of Beauty in Sound for producing this video that is so freely available on YouTube allowing us an up close perspective of the Rieger organ at St Giles, that we had the pleasure of a tour with John Kitchen a few years ago.
The Master of Music at St Giles’ Cathedral, Jack Oades, takes us through a tour of the recently-refurbished Rieger organ.
I’m very proud and honoured to have been invited to make the first recording of the ‘new’ organ, and it sounds better than ever!
Look out for a full Organ Recital on this organ given by Tom Bell.
Please leave your thoughts about this organ as a comment on this video 🙂
About us
Founded in 1962 we’ve been serving Lanarkshire’s Church Musicians for almost 50 years. We exist to promote organ and church music – whatever form that may take! Our membership is small with only 20 or so members, but we represent a wide spectrum of ages and interests.
Our aim is to encourage those with an interest in Church music and music in general – especially the young, promote music activities in relation to the organ and build a social network of organists in Lanarkshire, to adapt to the changing needs of organists and musicians and church music in general.
